Pandemic celebrated nine years of amazing games with a night of music, food, and refreshing adult beverages served up at EDISON, a hip new club in Downtown LA. Each year Pandemic celebrates its anniversary with a special dinner for employees and their significant others at a top restaurant or nightclub. As the company has grown, each year's event has gotten bigger and better. This year's venue, a converted 1920's subterranean power plant, provided a perfect setting. While the food was great and the drinks were cold, the burlesque dancers stole the spotlight.

On April 29 Pandemic Studios hosted some very special guests for the day: PANDEMIC KIDS!
In Honoring the national Take Your Kids To Work Day program, 16 Pandemic children "worked" for a whole day side by side with their moms and dads. The day started off with Josh welcoming the kids to work followed by a studio tour. Then the kids were taught how games get made here at Pandemic. Activities ranged from create your own game, making your own character and putting cool new sound effects into a video game. For lunch the Pandemic Family Picnic hosted the little Pandemites at nearby Westwood Park.
Thanks to all who helped make this a very special day!

If you had entered the Pandemic Saloon on the dark and not-so-stormy night of December 12th in the year aught-six you would have encountered vagabonds, ruffians, miscreants, and ne'er-do-wells of every stripe. Lovely ladies swung from the rafters while cigar-smoking, whiskey-soaked men of ill-repute had designs on games of skill and chance. Many even attempted to tame the wildest bull in the West, El Diablo de Mechanized Bull - dreaded thrower of artists, designers, writers, and others misfortunate enough to risk their bodies to build a New World. A brave, bold New World where holiday parties would one day be thrown by Independent Game Developers and they would invite over a 1,000 friends and colleagues to one of the biggest nightclubs in Hollywood, where the West is still without question, Wild. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Zombies. Skeletons. Elvis. The Bride with Hanzo steel... Shaun with cricket bat... Anakin with light saber... Mario with plunger... Spiderman with a beer? Jerry Garcia with Guitar Hero!
All of these creatures and characters were among the many great costumes on display at the Annual Pandemic Studios Halloween Costume Contest 2006! Mario won the contest and a Best Buy gift card for his costume: Mario Mario, the beloved, plucky plumber of Nintendo fame. We all enjoyed a great party in the office with refreshing beverages, tasty snacks, and fancy cheese. Apparently zombies like brains and fancy cheese.

It was a gas, gas, gas!
The "Gassy Awards" version of the annual Pandemic Holiday Party proved to be a brilliant success. On December 15, 2005, guests lined the red carpet outside the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, clambering to get in to the main concert hall and party like rock stars. The venerable Kent Schuelke captured the frenzy outside with camera interviews of Pandemic stars.
Inside the venue, partygoers dressed up as ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Howard Stern and other music biz notables rocked to the tunes of Pumpkin Jam and DJ Motion potion. Spirits flowed as the crowd cheered on the Guitar Hero videogame finalists, David Dearing and Drew Marlowe. Marlowe gave a solid performance as a Billy Idol wannabe, but David Dearing pulled out the win - inspired by the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend live on stage during his acceptance speech!
"Gassy Award" trophies of gas-masked silver heads were given out to winners by MC Tom Abernathy. In deference to the big Bioware-Pandemic partnership this year under flagship Elevation Partners (U2 singer Bono being a "partner") the awards categories were themed after hit U2 songs. Award winners included Pandemic's Marky Domowicz, James Conrad, Jeff Vaugh, Young Choi and Greg Borrud. Special “Gassys” were also awarded to Josh Resnick and Andrew Goldman!
We thank everyone for coming out to celebrate in rockin' style with Pandemic. Stay tuned for even bigger and better fun next year!

Goblins and ghouls and gamers, oh my!
The 2005 Pandemic Studios Halloween Costume Contest was bigger this year than ever before! With costumes ranging from demons and vampires to bunnies and pirates (prototypes for new game characters? Ummm... probably not.), there was no shortage of contestants or creativity.
This year's contest winner was the remarkable John Giors, whose black and red jester outfit barely beat out Takashi's "baby-on-the-back".

Over two years ago, when Mercenaries™ was little more than a gleam in a producer's eye, a lone programmer named Mark made a stunning declaration. Mark vowed that he would dye his hair red when Mercenaries™ sold over 1.5 million copies. When Pandemic Studios recently announced that Mercenaries™ had indeed surpassed the 1.5 million copy mark, Mark held true to his word (with a lot of prodding from his teammates) and dyed his hair a bright shade of red. Congratulations Mark!

Westwood is the movie premiere capital of the world. Due to the abundance of the state-of-the-art movie theaters in the area, the red carpet is laid out here on an almost weekly basis. It should come as no surprise then that Westwood sees more than its fair share of celebrities. Hollywood personalities, actors, and even politicians can be spotted in the area on a regular basis.
Pandemic's Operations Manager, Jim, has made it a mission to seek out as many autographs as he can. His latest acquisition: this autograph by Senator Hillary Clinton, who was recently seen dining at the Napa Valley Grille - directly downstairs from the studio.
